So What Is A Dental Implant?
A Dental Implant is a titanium screw device that replaces the natural root of your tooth. This titanium screw implant is then fixed into the jaw to provide a solid base for the artificial tooth replacement. The good news is that a Dental Implants can be an ideal replacement that acts and functions like a regular tooth.
While they not only restore function, they can also be used to improve overall aesthetics as well. Since, Dental Implants can feel and look like your own natural teeth, with proper care they can potentially last for many years.
What Do Dental Implants Cost?
If you’ve considered dental implants, you may have been surprised to discover that the fees for these implants vary significantly. While single implants can range in price from $3000-$4500, the cost of full dental implants may vary to a corresponding degree. The reasons for these variations are many, including circumstantial variances, comorbid health issues such as diabetes and gum disease as well as material costs.
Since dental implants rely on osseointegration, meaning the bonds that form between the artificial root and surrounding bone tissue, they require the use of costly titanium rods. The number of titanium rods, combined with the number of abutments and pontics (artificial teeth), impacts the final material cost of the implants themselves. While each artificial tooth may not require its own corresponding titanium ‘root’, the location of the implants and structural integrity of the surrounding tissues plays a role in the fee breakdown. Other factors such as preparatory procedures (bone or gum tissue grafts) that may be required in order to increase the safety and success of the implant itself, and add to the full cost of implants.
While implants are esthetically pleasing and functionally effective, they also have a role to play in the overall health of the jaw structure. In order to understand the full spectrum of benefits and considerations associated with implants, we encourage you to book a free 15 minute consultation with Dr. Tran to better understand your specific requirements and the potential investment required. ADx Dental also offers convenient financing options to assist with your dental implant procedures.
What Are the Stages of Treatment?
Please be aware that Dental Implants are not for everyone. You must have enough healthy jawbone structure left to support the implant properly, or you may require a bone graft to accept the procedure.
First, we will examine your mouth thoroughly. Typically, a CT scan and x-rays of your head, jaw, and teeth will be taken. Molds will also be made of your upper and lower jaws to show their exact alignment. This information will help Dr. Tran decide if you are a good candidate for a dental implant and if you are, where to place it in your jaw.
After your evaluation, the first phase of your treatment is the surgical phase; this is where Dr. Tran places the implant in your jaw bone. During this first phase of treatment, you will likely wear dentures and may have a restricted diet to ensure your implants are kept intact.
The second phase of treatment is approximately three to six months later when your implant has bonded to your jawbone. This is when your final artificial teeth are placed.
It is our goal that your dental implant restoration will be long-lasting,
look completely natural and functional normally!

As the name suggests, a dental implant is a replacement for your natural tooth and consists of a titanium screw instead of a tooth root. The screw is fixed into your jaw and provides a solid base on which to mount your replacement tooth.
A dental implant looks and performs like a normal tooth, which is why people have them for functional as well as cosmetic reasons. Look after them well, and dental implants have the potential to last for years.
Dental implants don’t come cheap. In fact, you can expect to pay anything from $3000 to $4500 for a single dental implant. And the price of a mouth-full of dental implants can vary to a similar degree. The price variations can be down to material costs and the state of the patient’s health, with diabetes and gum disease both affecting the cost of treatment.
The success of dental implants relies on the bonds that form between the artificial root and the surrounding bone tissue. The procedure uses titanium rods which are expensive, as are the artificial teeth that are used. All these materials impact the cost of the implants, as does the location of the implants and the structural integrity of the surrounding tissue. Bone or gum tissue grafts may also be required prior to dental implants, hence the wide variation in costs.
But the cosmetic and functional benefits of dental implants are clear, and the procedure can have benefits on the overall health structure of the jaw. Given the expense of dental implants, the Calgary dental care team at ADx can offer most patients finance agreements to help them afford to have dental implants in Calgary.
Can I Get A Dental Implant In Calgary?
As a responsible dental practice, ADx Dental cannot offer dental implants to patients who lack the healthy jawbone structure that’s essential for the procedure. Other patients may require a bone graft ahead of dental implants.
Dr Tran, a highly experienced Calgary SW dentist, will carry out a full examination of your mouth, using a 3D scan and your jaw and teeth. Molds will also be made of both your jaws to show their precise alignment. This will provide Dr Tran with the information he needs to decide whether or not you are suitable for dental implants and, if so, where the best place is in your jaw to place the implant/s.
If you get the go-ahead, Dr Tran will carry out the dental implant surgery in Calgary. You may need to wear dentures and follow a restricted diet to keep your implants in place.
3 to 6 months later, when your implant has bonded to your jaw, your artificial teeth will be put in place. Dental implants from ADx Dental are designed to be long-lasting and to look totally natural, giving you teeth that look great and function normally.
Whether you’re a new or existing ADx Dental customer and you are seeking dental implants in Calgary, our SW dentist will be happy to help.
